FROM THE next session, the government of Orissa has proposed to introduce same admission form for government as well as for private colleges in the state. "It will be implemented, if government receives consent from both the government and private colleges," said Pradeep Mohapatra, secretary to government of Orissa, department of information and technology on Tuesday (July 29). At the state level meeting of college principals held at Rabindramandap on Tuesday, Mohapatra said that in Orissa for the first time e-system was introduced in the department of Panchayat and it has proven very effective in transmission of letters, orders, and instructions etc very successfully. During admission, students face problems for submitting forms. The state government has a proposal to introduce same application form for government as well as private colleges. After implementing the E-college system, the college authorities will get every information in their college and they will not have to travel to Bhubaneswar frequently. Besides the state government of Orissa has decided to open for the first time in the state a Jawahar Knowledge Centre in every college like in Andhra Pradesh. All the students can get basic knowledge of computer applications and they can get jobs in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
