 Overview |
In the flattening world, India has become one of the
important protagonists in the domain of Information Technology. To
sustain the IT boom, the synergy among the institutions of Academia,
Industry and Government has become inevitable. Specifically the
incongruity between the academic competencies of the potential knowledge
workers and the Industry expectations needs to be mitigated.
The state of Andhra Pradesh produces 4 lakh graduates from its colleges
and Universities every year. Estimates reveal that due to poor awareness
of industry grade skills not more than 10% of general graduates and 25%
of engineering graduates could be employed in various sectors of
industry. It is realized that for effective employment of the 4 lakh
graduates, there needs to be a synergy among the institutes of Academia,
Industry and Government.
Under the aegis of Rajiv Udyogasri, Honorable Chief Minister has
visualized imparting training to about 2 lakh students in the upcoming
Academic year and about 3 lakh in the ensuing year to enable them to be
employed.
To realize the vision, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has incorporated
the Institute for Electronic Governance(IEG) to train young engineers to
become knowledge workers. |
