CEO JKC Tour

Jawahar Knowledge Center, a unique Human Resource promotion initiative of the Government has been successful in training the students in industry grade skills and in making them readily employable. The first JKC was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Y.S.Raja Sekhara Reddy in December 2004 and thereafter there was a phenomenal increase year after year. This year JKCs were started in Degree Colleges also. The number reached to 639 in Engineering, MCA and Degree Colleges in the year 2008.

The Management of IEG felt that there is a vital need to visit a good number of colleges especially in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh to create awareness among the students about the activities of JKCs.

The main objectives of these visits are:

To create awareness among the students about JKC initiatives

To familiarize them with various job opportunities

To orient them about acquiring required skills for employment

The Chief Executive Officer, IEG along with the Director (Academic Affairs) and Programme Managers started these tours in the first week of Jan 2008. Industry personnel are also accompanying them for few visits. It is planned to visit a minimum of 3 colleges in each district covering Engineering, MCA and Degree Colleges during Jan and Feb 2008.
