Information Technology & Communications Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, through the Institute for Electronic Governance has initiated comprehensive software training program i.e. Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC).
Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC) program is a flagship and a unique Human Resource Development program initiated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC) Program is first of its kind in the country where the government is promoting Human Resources Development in partnership with the IT companies and academic institutions to impart required skills to the fresh graduates of colleges coming out from all sections of the society and from all regions / far flung areas of the state, to make them technically and professionally competent for employment suiting to the requirement of IT industry, besides providing gainful employment. Thus far about 1 lakh students have been trained, and over 25,000 of them were directly placed in various IT Companies and thousands of others got benefited indirectly through the training program.
As an extension of the JKC program, Government is initiating a free residential training program for the students who have already graduated from the Engineering / MCA streams. Admitted students will be given training in Spoken English, Soft skills and Industry grade skills. IEG has conducted similar training programs before and several candidates who were trained got employed in leading MNCs. Admission into this training program will be based on a written test followed by a Group Discussion, and a personal interview.

1. The students should be Graduate in the year 2009 or 2010 with an MCA or a B.Tech in Computer Science or IT or Electronics or Electrical Background.
2. Students should have achieved a minimum of 60% in all of B.Tech / MCA, Intermediate and 10th class. For SC/ST students minimum is 55% in all of B.Tech / MCA, Intermediate and 10th Class.
3. Students should not have any backlogs in any of the courses.
4. Students belonging to SC, ST, BC, Minority and Economically Backward Classes will have to submit their Caste and Income Certificates at the time of Written Test.
While efforts will be made to facilitate placements, this training program does NOT guarantee employment.
