Oracle to support Andhra's JKC initiative
The Institute of Electronic Governance (IEG), which leads the Andhra
Pradesh governments Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) initiative, on Wednesday
signed a memorandum of understanding with Oracle India and the Oracle Academy.
Under the MoU, Oracle will expose over 50,000 students in 342 private and public
engineering and MCA colleges in the state to Oracle Academy business and
technology curriculum over a period of two years.
Participating colleges will receive the latest Oracle database, middleware and
development software worth Rs 5,000 crore free of cost, apart from 24X7
technical support. Besides, any new product that would be rolled out from Oracle
stable would be made available to these colleges as an upgrade, Krishna Sistla,
director (Oracle education initiatives Asia Pacific), told mediapersons.
